Judge OKs Antitrust Safeguards On $700M Google, ITA Deal

Law360, New York (October 5, 2011, 5:58 PM EDT) -- A Washington federal judge on Wednesday approved Google Inc.'s settlement with U.S. antitrust authorities over its $700 million acquisition of flight information software company ITA Software Inc., formally ending the lengthy regulatory battle over the controversial deal.

U.S. District Judge Robert L. Wilkins approved the consent decree Google reached with the U.S. Department of Justice, which imposed significant conditions on the transaction to address concerns that the deal could limit competition in the flight search services market.
