Google, TPG, Others Invest $15M In DNA Data Firm

Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 1:56 PM EDT) -- DNAnexus Inc., a DNA data management company serving the biotechnology industry, said Wednesday it had secured $15 million in funding from a group of venture capital firms including Google Ventures and TPG Biotech to hire more staff and accelerate product development.

DNAnexus, which provides a platform for researchers to access and analyze DNA data, said its second round of funding also included investors First Round Capital, SoftTech VC, K9 Ventures and Felicis Ventures. The money comes on top of $1.55 million in seed financing the company...
