Judge Shuts Down Investor Suit Over Nvidia Chips

Law360, Wilmington (October 13, 2011, 3:20 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Wednesday tossed for good a proposed class action alleging Nvidia Corp. misled investors about defects in its chips, finding the plaintiffs’ amended claims failed to show the company acted with intent to mislead regarding the problem.

U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg initially dismissed the suit in February, ruling the plaintiffs failed to adequately plead that Nvidia knew during the class period, and failed to disclose, that the chips were causing laptop computers in which they were installed to fail. The judge...
