Auction Co. Sues Contractor Over Michael Jackson Mix-Up

Law360, New York (October 13, 2011, 4:59 PM EDT) -- California auction house Julien’s Auctions hit an online auction service with a contract suit on Wednesday, claiming it had exposed Julien’s to legal action by misleading a customer into believing he had placed winning bids on items from the estate of superstar Michael Jackson.

Julien’s claims it contracted with New York-based Live Auctioneers LLC to serve as the online platform for an auction of Jackson’s personal property from his home, Neverland Ranch, according to the complaint in New York state court.
