Federal Circuit Denies Rehearing In University's Patent Dispute Over Plasma Displays

Law360 (January 4, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has denied the University of Illinois’ request for a rehearing of its appeal for sovereign immunity in a patent dispute over plasma displays with Japanese electronics maker Fujitsu.

Earlier this year, the appeals court dismissed an appeal by the university that sought a shield of sovereign immunity from counterclaims filed by Fujitsu in a lawsuit over patents for plasma displays.
