La-Z-Boy Rocked By Managers' OT Action

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 4:30 PM EDT) -- A group of current and former sales managers hit La-Z-Boy Inc. with a putative class action Thursday in California, claiming the furniture manufacturer failed to pay overtime wages, allow regular meal periods and provide accurate wage statements.

Lead plaintiff Derek Edwards and a putative class of over 1,000 employees contend La-Z-Boy and its subsidiary, LZB Retail Inc., misclassified exempt employees as nonexempt in order to avoid paying overtime wages.
