Kellogg, General Mills Beat Natural Fiber Suit In 7th Circ.

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 4:30 PM EDT) -- The Seventh Circuit on Monday affirmed the dismissal of a proposed class action that accused General Mills Inc. and Kellogg Co. of falsely marketing Fiber One and Fiber Plus chewy snack bars as high in healthy dietary fiber when they actually use "non-natural" processed fiber.

In an opinion authored by Judge Richard Posner, the court found that an Illinois district court properly dismissed the suit, which never reached the class certification stage, because both companies complied with Food and Drug Administration standards for listing fiber content...
