9th Circ. Upholds Contractor's Bribery Convictions

Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 7:30 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit on Wednesday affirmed bribery and money laundering convictions against a California businessman who was accused of offering lavish gifts to U.S. Rep. Randall "Duke" Cunningham in exchange for lucrative government contracts.

Brent Wilkes had appealed a jury's convictions against him from November 2007, which found him guilty not only of bribery and money laundering, but also conspiracy and honest services wire fraud, according to the three-judge panel's order.
