TWU Trustees Oppose Union Bid For Arbitration

Law360 (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- New York private bus companies are fighing a lawsuit filed by the city's Transportation Workers Union, in which the labor group is asking a judge to stope their dispute over whether to merge two pension plans from going to arbitration.

In the arbitration, representatives for bus companies and representatives for the workers would negotiate the employer's proposal to unite two the plans, since negotiations on this issue have been deadlocked for about a year.
