Icahn's Firm Loses $60M Suit Over Failed Venture

Law360, New York (October 20, 2011, 8:12 PM EDT) -- Real estate developer Harry Macklowe and his company W.H. Rome on Thursday beat a $60 million breach of contract suit in a New York appeals court alleging they reneged on a $1.2 billion partnership with Carl Icahn to pursue a real estate investment trust.

The suit, which alleged Icahn and his company Meadow Star LLC suffered at least $60 million in damages because of the collapsed agreement, was dismissed in its entirety following a two-week trial before Judge Barbara Kapnick, according to Willkie Farr & Gallagher...
