Better Than Ezra Singer Broke Contract, Ex-Manager Says

Law360, San Diego (October 24, 2011, 9:33 PM EDT) -- Better Than Ezra's former manager launched a suit Monday alleging the alternative rock band’s singer Kevin Griffin wrongfully fired the company right before Griffin stood to collect from a composition he co-wrote with country group Sugarland — a collaboration the plaintiff claims it helped facilitate.

Chicago-based Uppercut Management LLC’s complaint in New York state court alleges that Griffin and Louisiana-based companies Ezra & Sons LLC, Ezra Dry Goods Ltd. and Tentative Music Inc. breached the plaintiff’s contract with the band and still owes the former manager...
