Facebook Taken To Court Over Message, Post Patents

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 4:52 PM EDT) -- Facebook Inc. was slapped with a lawsuit in New York federal court last week alleging the website’s features for uploading and posting messages violate five patents owned by EasyWeb Innovations LLC.

The Oct. 20 complaint makes Facebook the second social media heavyweight to face claims of infringement of the patents, which describe a method of quickly publishing messages — including audio and video content — onto personal websites. EasyWeb filed a nearly identical suit against Twitter Inc. in September.
