PR Services Cos. Square Off Over Workers, Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 8:07 PM EDT) -- Public relations services provider Marketwire LP filed a $79 million suit in New York Wednesday against competitor PR Newswire Association LLC and four former employees, accusing them of conspiring to poach Marketwire workers and steal proprietary information.

In a complaint filed in New York state court in Manhattan, Toronto, Ontario-based Marketwire accused its former chief technology officer Shoeb Ansari — currently the chief information officer at PR Newswire — of luring away employees who had helped develop Marketwire's proprietary software and programs.
