Judge Says Apthorp Atty 'Duped' Him In $385M Loan Suit

Law360, New York (October 28, 2011, 5:20 PM EDT) -- A New York judge on Friday accused an attorney for Manhattan developer Apthorp Associates LLC of "duping" him in scheduling matters for a legal action to stop Anglo Irish Bank Corp. Ltd. from selling a $385 million property loan, and said he would toss the case.

At a hearing, Judge Jeffrey K. Oing ordered Apthorp to reimburse the bank for some of its litigation costs and agreed to allow the two sides to discontinue the lawsuit following a mishap over a preliminary injunction and a $190,000...
