DOE Lets Subcontractors Slide In Nuke Accident Probe

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 4:24 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has declined to pursue enforcement actions against two subcontractors involved in a radioactive contamination accident at a nuclear research campus in New York, according to letters the agency published Friday.

The DOE said it won’t cite Safety & Ecology Corp. or EnergySolutions LLC for possible safety violations that occurred last fall during their work at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, N.Y.
