Judge Scraps Wackenhut Guards' ERISA Case

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 3:38 PM EDT) -- A Nevada federal judge on Monday threw out the final remaining claims in a proposed class action by retired Wackenhut Services Inc. security guards accusing the companies involved in administering their pension plan of violating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by failing to send out required notices and plan descriptions.

U.S. District Judge Roger L. Hunt ruled that the documents were in fact sent to the plaintiffs. He granted summary judgment Friday to the only defendants, the board of trustees of the Independent Guards Association...
