News Corp., DirecTV Reach Deal On Fox Channels

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 6:23 PM EDT) -- News Corp. and DirecTV Group Inc. reached an agreement Monday that will keep Fox cable and broadcast channels on the satellite broadcaster's service, ending a contentious negotiating process and resolving a contract dispute just before a deadline expired.

An agreement between DirecTV and a number of cable networks controlled by Fox Cable Networks Inc. expired Sept. 30, and DirecTV had planned to suspend coverage of the cable channels Nov. 1 if a new deal was not reached. The cable channels at issue include FX, National Geographic...
