Airlines Bid For Transatlantic Antitrust Immunity

Law360, New York (June 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Delta Air Lines Inc., Northwest Airlines Corp. and four other SkyTeam Alliance members have asked the U.S. Department of Transportation for antitrust immunity on their transatlantic routes in the first application lodged with the agency since the European Union and the U.S. signed an open skies treaty.

The two American airlines, along with Alitalia SpA, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and CSA Czech Airlines on Thursday submitted a request to the Department of Transportation detailing their joint agreement for 24 transatlantic routes between the U.S....
