Sony, TufAmerica Bow Out Of IP Dance Over Sampling

Law360, New York (November 7, 2011, 6:48 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Friday dismissed claims between Sony Music Entertainment and hip-hop and R&B label TufAmerica Inc., after the two agreed to drop their dispute over Sony's allegedly unauthorized use of samples in songs like Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man."

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley III signed the order dismissing TufAmerica’s claims against Sony without prejudice.

Complete terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
