CFTC Chief Urged To Exit MF Global Probe Over Corzine Ties

Law360, New York (November 4, 2011, 4:57 PM EDT) -- Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Friday called on the head of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which is investigating the downfall of bankrupt broker-dealer MF Global Holdings Ltd., to recuse himself because of alleged strong ties to the firm's now-former CEO Jon Corzine.

In a statement, Grassley said it seemed that the recusal of CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler “would be the best outcome for investors” given his reported connections to the former New Jersey governor, who resigned as CEO of MF Holdings on Friday....
