DC Circ. Shuts Down Sallie Mae FCA Suit

Law360, New York (November 4, 2011, 7:44 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Friday upheld the dismissal of a suit brought by a former employee accusing SLM Financial Corp., parent company of student loan giant Sallie Mae, of obtaining federal guarantees by concealing an unlawful forbearance policy in violation of the False Claims Act.
