Judge Pares Counterclaims In Sonar Contract Row

Law360, New York (November 7, 2011, 7:04 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge Friday nixed unfair competition, fraud and other counterclaims lobbed at defense contractor KDH Defense Systems Inc. in a long-running contract dispute over a multimillion-dollar sonar system designed to help the U.S. Navy detect swimmers underwater.

KDH first filed suit against sonar engineering firm Curtis Technology Ltd. in 2008, accusing it of breaching a contract the companies signed in 2006 to develop the swimmer detection sonar, known as the T-3 System, for the Navy. KDH accuses U.K.-based Curtis of applying for a patent...
