DOD Beats Challenge To $315M Contract Termination

Law360, New York (November 7, 2011, 10:06 PM EST) -- The Defense Information Systems Agency was right to terminate TeleCommunication Systems Inc.'s $315 million satellite communications contract because the company's hiring of a former government employee gave it an unfair advantage in the bidding process, according to a U.S. Government Accountability Office decision released Friday.

In a publicly released, partially redacted decision, the GAO sided with DISA, which canceled its contract for satellite communications infrastructure and services with TCS after investigating the alleged conflict of interest and rewarded it instead to Stratos Government Services Inc....
