'So You Think You Can Dance' Theft Suit Settled

Law360, San Diego (November 8, 2011, 2:51 PM EST) -- Two professional dancers on Friday resolved their lawsuit accusing TV production companies 19 Entertainment Inc. and Dick Clark Productions Inc. of breaching an implied contract by stealing the idea for the television show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

James Spertus, an attorney representing the plaintiffs, said the settlement of the suit, filed in California state court, was mutually agreeable to both the plaintiffs and the defendants. The parties made amends on the eve of trial, which was set for Nov. 7.
