Monster Says Headphone Mark Doesn't Infringe Dolby's

Law360, New York (November 9, 2011, 1:30 PM EST) -- Monster Cable Products Inc. on Tuesday sued Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corp., asking a California federal court to declare that Monster’s new headphone trademark does not infringe a similar mark belonging to Dolby.

Monster, which manufactures electronics cables and other related accessories, sought judgment that its pending headphone trademark is a generic version of its main mark, and that Dolby cannot prevent its rival from registering it.
