Feds Call Clemens' Bid For Mistrial Fees Meritless

Law360, New York (November 8, 2011, 10:39 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors on Tuesday struck back at Roger Clemens' request for the government to cover the costs of his first criminal perjury trial, saying the ex-baseball pro has no legal basis to ask for sanctions.

A Washington federal judge gave prosecutors another shot at convicting Clemens in September, denying the former MLB ace's bid to throw out the charges after the case was deemed a mistrial in July. In October, Clemens asked the judge to award him the fees and costs associated with the mistrial....
