Gerson Strikes Deal With Research Associates On OT Pay

Law360, New York (November 9, 2011, 3:09 PM EST) -- Consulting firm Gerson Lehrman Group Inc. on Tuesday agreed to pay $900,000 to resolve a class action brought by research associates who claimed they were misclassified as exempt from overtime pay requirements.

The parties filed a joint motion asking a New York federal court to preliminarily approve a settlement that would dispose of the plaintiffs' claims that the firm improperly refused its research associates overtime pay in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and state labor laws.
