Dish Faces Class Action Over Unwanted Telemarketing

Law360, Washington (November 9, 2011, 5:39 PM EST) -- A consumer launched a putative class action against Dish Network LLC in Colorado on Tuesday alleging the satellite television provider was responsible for dozens of unwanted, unsolicited telemarketing phone calls, in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Dish, through authorized retailers who were acting on its behalf, made more than a dozen unlawful telemarketing calls to named plaintiff Matthew Donaca and made scores of similar calls to consumers nationwide, Donaca alleges.
