NY Developer Charged Over Soil Dumping In Wetlands

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 5:32 PM EST) -- A New York developer was indicted Wednesday for building on wetlands he owned, in violation of the Clean Water Act, and continuing to do so despite multiple regulatory actions and a court order.

A federal grand jury indicted Buffalo, N.Y., resident William Huntress and his development companies for illegally dumping topsoil on more than 90 acres of wetlands in Amherst, N.Y., so he could rent out the area for farming.
