Designer's Trademark Accusations A Bit Spacy: Serta

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 5:27 PM EST) -- Serta Inc. sued Oleg Cassini Inc. on Thursday, asking an Illinois federal court to rule the bedding manufacturer’s space-themed line of “Perfect Day Cassini” mattresses doesn’t infringe the design house’s trademark.

Serta says the term “Cassini” has become widespread through its use in a number of enterprises, and that Oleg is wrong to level allegations against Serta that its trademark is being diluted through the sale of the mattresses.
