'Storage Wars' Star Sues Trey Songz Over Catchphrase

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 6:40 PM EST) -- David Hester, a star of A&E Television Network's "Storage Wars," filed suit Thursday in New York federal court against hip-hop artist Tremaine Neverson, better known as Trey Songz, seeking a declaratory judgment that Hester's catchphrase "Yuuup!" does not violate Neverson's trademark rights.

The two-time Grammy Award-nominated Neverson sent Hester a cease-and-desist letter in September, claiming that the reality TV star's catchphrase violates his property rights because it is a "signature sound" he had used in performances and on merchandise since 2009.
