US Seeks Life Sentence For Leader Of Army Bribery Scheme

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 5:55 PM EST) -- The U.S. government on Sunday asked a federal judge to impose a life prison sentence on a former U.S. Army major convicted of taking $3 million in bribes in exchange for contracts to supply bottled water in Iraq and Kuwait.

Prosecutors argued that Eddie Pressley, a former Army contracting officer, should receive the statutory maximum sentence, saying it was consistent with his crimes and would discourage others from following in his footsteps.
