Fresh From Samsung Settlement, Mosaid Targets Hynix In Another DRAM Patent Suit

Law360, New York (January 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- One day after Canadian memory chip maker Mosaid Technologies settled its patent infringement lawsuit against South Korean rival Samsung Electronics, the company said it had filed a similar suit against Korea’s Hynix Semiconductor Inc.

The complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims that Hynix is infringing Mosaid’s Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) patents.

The complaint seeks preliminary and permanent injunctions against the sale of infringing products, unspecified monetary damages including treble damages for willful infringement and attorneys’ fees....
