Robber's Ex-Atty Can't Get More 'Dog Day' Royalties: Judge

Law360, New York (November 17, 2011, 6:42 PM EST) -- A New York appeals court on Tuesday barred the former jailhouse lawyer of John S. Wojtowicz, the bank robber who inspired the 1975 film "Dog Day Afternoon," from bringing further claims against Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. after repeated attempts to get more of the movie's royalties.

The appeals court affirmed a lower court's July decision dismissing George Heath's suit seeking increased reimbursement from the production company and enjoining him from future intellectual property suits for "Dog Day Afternoon" royalties.
