Discovery Ongoing As Teflon Case Heats Up

Law360 (July 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Depositions are being taken and documents are being produced as chemical manufacturer E.I. DuPont De NeMours & Co. prepares to square off with Teflon-coated cookware owners in a $5 billion product liability suit.

On one side is the proposed class of Teflon buyers, which says noxious, cancer-causing chemicals are released when non-stick pots and pans are heated above a certain temperature. It adds that DuPont has known about the problem for years, but recklessly failed to alert consumers.
