NASA ‘Intelligent Design’ Bias Suit Heads To Jury

Law360, New York (November 22, 2011, 3:25 PM EST) -- A California state judge on Friday said a jury will have to examine allegations that managers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory discriminated against an information technology specialist for discussing the theory of "intelligent design" at work, rejecting the lab's efforts to nix the case.

Judge Ernest M. Hiroshige denied JPL's motion for summary judgment Friday and found that a jury should best consider David Coppedge's accusations that the lab demoted him and ultimately fired him because of his beliefs.
