Law360, New York (November 22, 2011, 10:27 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday granted preliminary approval to a settlement agreement in a class action accusing automotive battery distributor Interstate Battery System International Inc. of offering misleading warranty information concealing inflated prices for replacement batteries.
U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken said the parties’ Oct. 26 settlement agreement, if approved, would fully resolve the action, indicating that a fairness hearing to determine the final approval of the settlement would take place March 8, 2012.
