Court Upholds Landowner's $57.5M Award In Lease Suit

Law360, New York (November 28, 2011, 10:53 PM EST) -- A Texas appeals court on Wednesday upheld a jury's decision to award $57.5 million in damages to Keystone-Texas Property Holding Corp. in a case originally accusing the company of breaching a lease when it sold a San Antonio property to a third party.

A three-judge panel of the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court's jury verdict of $50 million in damages in a countersuit lodged by Keystone accusing Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. subsidiary HMC Hotel Properties II LP of slandering the landowner...
