Law Firm Stays On Hook For Client's Botched Patent

Law360, New York (November 30, 2011, 1:44 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge refused Tuesday to toss a malpractice lawsuit against Antonelli Terry Stout & Kraus LLP, accused of botching Protostorm LLC's patent application for inventions that the company consequently couldn't protect against Google Inc.'s similar targeted advertising methods.

U.S. District Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis rejected Antonelli Terry's bid to toss the suit, filed by former client Protostorm and company principal Peter Faulisi for the law firm's alleged failure to abide by the statute of limitations. The judge said the information technology company pursued...
