Judge Wants Filings On Cellini's Retrial Bid

Law360, Chicago (December 1, 2011, 8:07 PM EST) -- An Illinois federal judge Thursday asked prosecutors and attorneys for real estate investor William Cellini to start preparing for a possible hearing on the motion for a new trial Cellini filed following his conviction last month on extortion and bribery charges.

U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel said that he wanted lawyers for both sides to submit, under seal, questions that they would want to ask witnesses at the unscheduled hearing, as well as dates on which they would be available for the hearing itself....
