Senate Passes $662B Defense Bill, Caps Contractor Pay

Law360, New York (December 1, 2011, 11:03 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed a $662 billion defense appropriations bill that includes an amendment capping salaries of defense contractors at $400,000.

The Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 in a 93-7 vote just a few hours after adding the Commonsense Defense Contractor Compensation amendment, sponsored by Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va.
