NJ Contractors Cop To Rigging School Contract Bids

Law360, New York (December 2, 2011, 5:52 PM EST) -- A pair of New Jersey contractors pled guilty Thursday to rigging bids and inflating school contracts at the direction of an engineer who oversaw the construction projects for several school districts, according to prosecutors.

Martin W. Starr, 45, the owner of Starr Contracting, and Stephen M. Gallagher, 50, the owner of East Commercial Construction, each pled guilty to charges of third-degree false representations for a government contract before New Jersey Superior Court Judge John S. Triarsi, Attorney General Paula T. Dow said.
