Davis & Gilbert Botched Dance Film Copyright: $8M Suit

Law360, New York (December 2, 2011, 2:29 PM EST) -- A film production company and its owner on Thursday lodged a malpractice suit against Davis & Gilbert LLP, claiming the law firm botched the copyright and trademark application process for a dance documentary, costing the company millions.

In a suit filed in New York state court, Candela Entertainment Inc. and owner Cynthia Newport alleged Davis & Gilbert negligently mishandled the preparation of vital trademark, copyright and financing documentation.
