Sephora Settles Photog’s IP Suit Over Ad Campaign

Law360, New York (December 5, 2011, 1:43 PM EST) -- Fashion photographer Akos Simon settled his copyright suit against cosmetics retailer Sephora USA Inc. on Friday, resolving allegations that the retail chain unlawfully copied his photos in two recent advertising campaigns.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew J. Peck signed off on a settlement agreement filed in New York federal court, dismissing the case with prejudice. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

“Based on the settlement agreement reached by all parties … this action is dismissed with prejudice and without costs,” the order said.
