Qantas Off The Hook In Deep Vein Thrombosis MDL

Law360, New York (July 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Qantas Airways Ltd. was granted summary judgment Tuesday in one case in the deep vein thrombosis mass tort litigation against it and a slew of other airlines.

The order Judge Vaughn Walker of the northern California district court handed down in the case filed by Greg Halterman—which concerned a series of connecting flights he had taken in 2002 from Colorado Springs, Col. to Melbourne, Australia, connecting between SkyWest Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc.,and Qantas—reflects the court's friendliness to airlines thus far in the litigation.
