NJ Consumer Claim Clipped In Land Rover Tire MDL

Law360, Los Angeles (December 12, 2011, 5:28 PM EST) -- A California federal judge overseeing multidistrict class actions claiming Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC sold defective cars with misaligned wheels on Monday tentatively dismissed a claim that the New Jersey company broke that state's consumer protection laws.

In a tentative ruling issued before a hearing Monday, U.S. District Judge Andrew J. Guilford wrote that plaintiffs who purchased and serviced their vehicles in Illinois and Virginia were not entitled to sue under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
