MF Global SIPA Trustee Fights Conflicts Allegations

Law360, New York (December 12, 2011, 9:28 PM EST) -- The Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP partner overseeing the liquidation of MF Global Inc. under the Securities Investor Protection Act defended himself Monday against alleged conflicts of interest, saying his firm was disinterested in the outcome of the case.

Two customers of MFGI had objected to trustee James Giddens' involvement in the case, citing links between Giddens' firm, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, according to court documents.
