Judge Won't Sign Off On Class In Ashland Explosion Suit

Law360, New York (December 14, 2011, 7:55 PM EST) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Tuesday refused to certify a class in a suit against chemical supplier Ashland Inc. over a 2006 factory explosion, saying that the named plaintiffs would have different goals from the majority of their proposed class.

The explosion allegedly caused $30 million in damage to surrounding properties in Danvers, Mass. According to the memorandum, facility operators CAI Inc. and Arnel Co.
