Inflammatory Evidence Barred In La. Mayor Bribery Trial

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 11:59 AM EST) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Wednesday granted the federal government's motion to bar certain evidence that could prejudice the jury in the trial of George L. Grace, the former mayor of St. Gabriel, La., who has been charged with taking bribes for government contracts.

Grace, who was indicted in September 2010 on charges he took bribes and used his position to influence contracts and real estate transactions, will not be allowed to mention the perjury trap defense or the criminal history of an undercover FBI agent...
