WTO Inks New Procurement Pact For $100B Growth

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 6:03 PM EST) -- The World Trade Organization on Thursday agreed to a major revision of its Government Procurement Agreement that is meant to boost international competition and market access to up to $100 billion worth of additional government contract business.

Capping off negotiations that began ten years ago, the WTO announced that 42 global participants had finally struck the deal to expand the types of contracts, services and government entities covered by the pact and to set new transparency standards aimed at fighting corruption.
